Vespers at Lourdes is a substantial encounter with the Living God–experienced primarily in Eucharistic adoration, chanted psalms, and profound silence – supplemented by intellectual formation and fraternal merrymaking that is worthy of the demanding schedule of thriving young professionals of the Twin Cities. We offer a solemn, authentic, and professional environment for young Catholics to grow in Faith and Fellowship.
The next Vespers at Lourdes will be a Virtual Vespers on Thursday, May 14! We'll be joined by Nell O'Leary.
Nell O’Leary is a "recovering" lawyer turned writer, editor, and speaker along with mom to four little kiddos who married her law school love. She’s the Managing Editor for Blessed is She, a Catholic women’s ministry. She loves community, hot cocoa, and reading a good book. She blogs periodically at WholeParentingFamily.com.
Join us online this Thursday evening for a special edition Virtual Vespers at Lourdes, an opportunity to connect with the living God and reflect together with Mrs. Nell O'Leary on living as a Catholic in the modern secular world.

Cocktail Demo: The Classic Gimlet
After our Vespers prayer time will be an intermission when you'll be invited to grab a drink and a snack and settle in for Nell's presentation. During this time the Vespers bar team will teach us how to make a classic Gimlet (pictured) featuring the following ingredients. Pick them up from the store before the event if you don't have them on hand — you won't regret it.
Gin (Gordon's works nicely)Lime juiceSimple syrupLime (for garnish)IcePro tip I: you can make simple syrup at home by dissolving two parts sugar in one part hot (not quite boiling) water.
Pro tip II: If you don't have gin, vodka will suffice; while substituting rum makes a daiquiri.

The History of Vespers at Lourdes
Vespers has been able to continue for many years due to a major outpouring of grace by the Holy Spirit, the support of Our Lady of Lourdes, and the efforts of many dedicated men and women. If you are interested in getting involved in helping plan Vespers or want to sign in the choir, please contact us.
In an order to respond to the call to evangelize both those in and out of the Church, a group of young professionals in Minneapolis gathered together at Our Lady of Lourdes parish. This young adults group knew first and foremost that in the chaos of our world’s technology and advertisements surrounding us at every turn, an organized opportunity to gather as a group in silence to pray was of immense importance. Secondly, recognizing that if the faith is to be something more than an emotional feeling that is communicated to others, it needs to be rooted in the mind.
This night needed to be a substantial encounter with Truth that is worthy of the precious time of a young adult who is pressed with the commitments of work and family.
